-A Film By Quentin Tarantino

I don’t know if it would be a traditional choice, but More Adventurous by Rilo Kiley is what got me through my worst relationship/death/rebirth phase. There’s so much to be mined from the combination of sweet vocals and cutting lyrics.

Fantastic choice. Love The Streets. I was talking about them yesterday in the “What Are You Listening To This Week” comments.

Kitten has a new song out tomorrow. I’ll be listening to that. Also there’s a new Kina Grannis single.

It’s not a “good” movie, per se. But I will say this, I was much more entertained watching Bright than I was by the (in comparison) critically-lauded Atomic Blonde.

It’s SO WEIRD. Such a bizarre movie...

All Hail Buddha Cat

Don’t get me wrong, I’ve listened to Voyager hundreds of times. I just feel that a lot of the record sounded very “samey”, and I blame Adams for that. It’s still better than most, and I’ll buy whatever Jenny puts out, even if I don’t know WTF a “cookie lips” is.

I liked Lorde, Haim, Paramore, and SZA quite a bit. Pretty solid list you’ve got here.

I think this Iron and Wine is his best since Kiss Each Other Clean. Solid record.

I respectfully disagree with this entire conversation. But, to be fair, that’s probably because Tough Love was my starting point and I only experienced the earlier stuff after falling in love with that record. So, you know, biases and such.

Hey, just because Ryan Adams made Jenny’s last album kind of boring, doesn’t mean she won’t make more amazing music.

Was just a joke about the relative obscurity and, let’s say, interesting sounding band names that you listed. I will check out Leather Girls though. That sounds cool.

I didn’t like the BSS record as much as Forgiveness Rock Record or You Forgot It In People, but it’s definitely good. I’m going to listen to it a few more times to see if anything catches me more this time around.

Dude, did you just copy a bunch of names from that Best Band Names article yesterday?

Nice with the Nitty Scott. That’s a slept-on record for sure.

Did you like Radio Silence more than The Seven?

Damn, I was hoping this wouldn’t go up for another week or so. I don’t have my list done yet. But, in the spirit, here’s a rough version of it.

Nothing of substance to add, but I love this article. I agree with everyone who said that this is their favorite AVClub thing. So good.

Man, my weekend is going to be a confusing jumble of emotions. This, Stranger Things, and Mario Odyssey will all rock me in various ways. Sprained Ankle was amazing and I can’t wait for this.
