She’s also involved with a really cool looking upcoming game called Sable. I know she's doing the soundtrack, but she may have other involvement as well.

You’re not wrong about “Young Enough”. I was expecting it to be way more like “Guppy”. And on first listen I was pretty let down. But there was enough there for me to give it a few more spins and then the switch flipped, and it just made sense that THIS is Charly Bliss. It’s probably the biggest turnaround I had on a…
Love everything Jenny Lewis has done. But, for whatever reason (maybe Ryan Adams?), the last two LPs haven’t been my favorite. I like this one better than the last though.
Mine looked something like this:
I wanted to like that Jade Bird record so much. I loved the Something American EP. But then like 2/3 of this album is just really shouty and not...I dunno...for me, I guess?
“On the Line” then is very much a transitional record, and that includes something that can’t be ignored: the cheeky album art of Lewis’ cleavage. The cover art for “On the Line,” shot by photographer and frequent Lewis collaborator Autumn de Wilde, features an image taken below Lewis’ neck, where she’s sporting a…
Pretty sure that was just Lexar's brand name for them, and some people owned them as their first USB memory thing, so the name stuck.
Love that Natalie Prass record. Good choice.
For full length stuff:
That Usher thing came out last week (at least on Spotify). I wasn’t a huge fan.
Love this record. So good.
Looks like Noname - Room 25 and First Aid Kit EP for me this week.
I saw the Let’s Eat Grandma record on a new release list and said “look at the band with the stupid name, WTF”. Then I listened to it several times. It’s good.
Mostly new singles for me this week.
RIP Scott. Such a loss. I had just started getting into Frightened Rabbit since they did that song with Julien Baker. Depression sucks.
I once saw a “Rotten Tomatoes Certified Fresh” display at Target filled with copies of Paul Blart: Mall Cop. That’s kind of like The Louvre.
Ooof, that “Everything is Awful” song is Simple Plan level bad. It feels like they heard the song from the Lego movie and said “let’s do that, but sad”. The first half of that record is solid, but it really went downhill there.
Came to say the same thing. There’s nothing bad about it, unless we’re using bad in the cool-kid way, meaning good.
Meh, I haven’t had a problem with it at all. Is it a little weird occasionally that they’re using similar angles and zooms as WWE Monday Night Raw? Sure. Is it actually detracting from the experience? For me, no. Not at all.
Any year that gives us Rilo Kiley, The Mountain Goats, Broken Social Scene, The Streets, and Sage Francis can’t be all bad.
