Yeh, it’s pretty tricky to get everything super accurate by the nature of the craft - they’re more of an interpretation. There’s nothing to say they weren’t scavenged within a day or two from the funeral pyre. If I was an opportunist Storm Trooper (now jobless and exiled) temporarily stranded on Endor or a Rebel (Luke couldn’t have gone that far from the Ewok village) and stumbled across Vader’s remains - I totally would have taken it…

Something that’s confusing me is that the Vader relic is sits on a triangular podium in the film but in the promo image below it’s on the black hexagonal ‘ash’ table.
