This may have worked in the old days when you simply mailed in a resume, but now when you apply for a job, chances are you've got to log into another stupid system (create yet another username and password), upload your resume, fill out the online forms with your address, etc, and then fill out a complete application…

You say that but I've been trying to find a job so I can move out of my current area and after talking to several recruiters in the Seattle area what I've heard more often then not is, "Great tell me when you move." not "Cool let me help you find a job so you can move."
