I was a competitive figure skater for fifteen years. I competed under the new International Judging System fairly extensively. I cannot, for the life of me, tell you why Kim Yu-Na was not at the top of the podium. There is literally no reason. Sotnikova did not become a better skater overnight, and every justification

This deserves its own image post. Because the world needs to know about Kim K's giant flesh-eating arm caterpillars.

What a great show! I don't think it's all the way there yet, but it's only in its first season and definitely deserves another. Like you said, the female characters are fully fleshed out (although I think they could tone it down a bit with Jackie), and the kids are great too, especially Bert.

Burt is THE BEST. I would steal him in a hot second.

LOVE THIS SHOW. So many amazing female characters! The name is just the fucking worst - it drives people away.

RE: Malin Akerman:

Can we talk about how good The Trophy Wife (Tuesdays @ 9:30pm on ABC) is - and how great the cast is, especially Akerman, Bradley Whitford (Josh Lyman!), Marcia Gay Harden, and Michaela Watkins? And how much it sucks that this very funny, critically acclaimed show helmed by feminist

You can always tell where you stand in society by judging who's supposed to give ——-and who's allowed to take. If she literally didn't give him what he wanted and what he and other men get told they're owed, I'm sure he does feel like he's the victim. After all, she didn't do her job!

The worst part is, he probably HONESTY believes that he's somehow the victim. It's incredibly common (I have a good friend who works with offenders, and he says one of the hardest parts is getting them to admit they're the perpetrator and not the victim). It's incredibly fucked up. And not helped by a culture and

Surely you are not implying that a person on trial for murder might not be presenting the unvarnished truth about themselves?

I call bullshit. She's probably just stating this for the infamy. She was so sloppy in the one killing she was busted for, what are the odds she actually killed 21 other people and didn't get caught?

That certainly sounds awful. But it is not uncommon for serial killers to lie through their teeth about the number of people they killed. Shockingly, they are not the most reliable people.

......This movie's got everything: a talking crab, a lovelorn flounder, a sea witch that's an independent woman—part II—and a red-headed heroine with a wicked sense of style....

Well, I'm glad to know I'm not losing my mind. Thanks!

Interesting insight into noun vs. adjective.

My issues with "lesbian" is that it's used as a noun where as "gay" is an adjective. Nouns pretty much define you where as adjectives are a part of describing you.

I agree with you. I changed the headline to reflect her own words. Thank you for the insight.

I really liked this one because it was happy without being "TRIUMPHANT IN SHOULDER PADS!"
