@kitkatklub123: Just chiming in to make sure, in a friendly way, that you realize the more important significance of December 7. If you do not, please follow this link:

Interesting...in my graduate level wind engineering course we are taught that the anemometer is only used for determining if the wind is between cut in and cut out speed. I wonder why it would have to be so accurate...the wind behind the blades is so turbulent as to not give an accurate representation of the actual

You can do the same thing with an AdBlockPlus filter, the same way that you can forcibly disable Facebook Connect:

In case anyone was wondering, many of the newest, most advanced wind turbines require rare earth minerals for their permanent magnets.

@jalb: Well, maybe if Sony hadn't bricked the otherOS option you'd be able to get somewhere...

@ttk2: I probably would if I had time. Usually I eventually do on my laptop, but my desktop is pretty customized, so a reinstall would take much more time than I have available.

@Kamatari +: I'm sure you've already figured it out, but if you haven't, go to a terminal or press ALT+F2 and type:

@phobos512: Thanks for the clarification.

Ummm....OK. So I understand that this is intended to be sensationalist, but we could at least try to portray partially realistic potential futures.

The best way to save $1800 on a Hackintosh Mac Pro is to not buy a $1300 processor. Now, if somehow Core i5="Nehalem" Xeon we might be talking.

@showbiz2: Fair enough. I still don't understand the noise complaints...I've never heard anyone in Iowa complain about their noise.

@pjfranke: Well, that's the cost of progress, right?

@Dave: "That thing's barely moving"

@showbiz2: Just as a point of clarification, the only thing manufactured in Newton (the old Maytag plant) are the blades. In Iowa most of the hubs and towers are GE, Vestas, or Clipper. (Clipper has a plant in Iowa as well).

How is this special? I was under the impression that people did this all the time. The golden ratio is used because it looks good to our eye.

@Kaiser-Machead v.2.2: According to this physicist, these headlines already do/have occur(red). Hello infinite universe!

@aec007: I thought it was entirely obvious that she was referring to building a skimming ship.

This is nice and everything, but I feel like it is partially wasted on Ubuntu, where apt-get makes everything quicker and easier. I just installed Fedora on a lark, and I'm currently hating on the terrifically outdated rpm/YUM system. It seriously takes forever, and if you forget to add one program to your yum install
