Yep. Thanks for confirming that you don’t actually know what censorship is. You can bow out of the conversation now.

You seem to be one of those people that doesn’t actually understand what censorship is. Censorship only occurs when the government threatens or imprisons you for your speech. If it’s a private company denying you a platform, that’s just that private company exercising their right to shut you up for being inflammatory.

I live in Wallingford, so it’s a hop, skip, and/or jump over there for me. Dick’s is great, but it’s a spot that I go to when I’ve gotten a little too hammered. I agree with you on burgers not being a sandwich, though. It’s something unto itself. I do, however, include tortas. TNT Taqueria has a pretty solid one.

Just because you think it’s contrived doesn’t make it so. Rape culture is a thing. Objectification of women is also a thing. Technically, any representation that reinforces those social ills are definitely problems, even if you really like looking at T&A.

I’m 36 (Christ, that makes me feel old), also in pretty good shape, and have had on and off knee issues for about 10 years, now. In college, I tore my left PCL, and then about 8-9 years ago, tore three muscles and partially tore a tendon in my left hip area. In going through about 9 months of PT, the absolute best

Thanks?

Pointing out that the problem of representation in media is an actual problem and using criticism of his avatar as a shield against other valid criticism is cowardly.

I’ve read through the top responses. Nobody mentions the avatar. But yeah, that’s totally the only problem with the notion of representation in media. One anonymous user’s avatar.

Fish that’s meant to be served in sushi or other raw applications are flash  frozen, which kills any worms that may be present in the fish, so unless they’re getting sushi from an extremely shady place that doesn’t follow basic food safety protocols, you’re safe.

If we’re including burgers, Uneeda Burger in Fremont is tremendous. I’ve also heard great things about Mean Sandwich, in Ballard, but I wasn’t able to try it out before the COVID crisis shut them down.

With a state the size of Delaware, yes, one sandwich from one shop can indeed sway the tastebuds of all, like, 15 people (and 50,000 corporations) that call Delaware home. Also, “loose meat”? Jesus Christ, Iowa, get your shit together. It may be a tasty sandwich, but your marketing skills are a crime against humanity.

Eh, if you want to order some sushi, get some sushi. COVID is a respiratory virus, meaning it replicates along the respiratory pathway, not the digestive pathway. Yes, I know virus fragments have been found in fecal matter, but assuming this behaves like most coronaviruses, it’ll be destroyed by your stomach acid and

They could probably extend the lifespan of the molds by using a solvent or surfactant to break the fats down without damaging the mold, but I’m also not a scientist, so maybe don’t listen to me.

Counterpoint: soup is delicious. Nothing beats a hearty bowl of chicken soup and a grilled cheese made with sourdough on a cold wintry day. The difference between good soup and shitty soup is all in the broth. Brown chicken wings/necks/backbones, etc., in a deep pot, add aromatics into the rendered chicken fat, add a

Most recently, my family has been celebrating fennel. It’s wonderful raw in salads, you can braise it, I add it to pasta sauces, pickle it, roast it in the oven. I never liked licorice flavored things, but something about the way fennel tastes, the texture, etc., it makes it not only palatable, but downright enjoyable.

I’m right there with you. It mystifies me that people will shell out real money for cosmetics that, the overwhelming majority of the time, they themselves will not see. And then for people to get all up in arms about it is even more confusing.

Oof. Well...uh...good luck?

As an avowed omnivore, I cannot get behind the idea of meat substitutes. I think that’s what has led to people being disappointed in non-meat options: the idea that something can just be used as a meat stand-in. Non-meat foods can never be used as a 1:1 replacement because they are not meat and inviting that direct

My wife, dog, and I are generally doing pretty well. It’s not all wine and roses (mostly wine, roses feel superfluous at the moment), but it does help pass the time and feel less isolated, even while being isolated. I guess that stands to reason. Thinking about someone else’s wants and impulses feeds the embers of

Do you eat eggs and/or fish? I’m not a vegetarian, nor is my wife, but we’re working to decrease our meat consumption for a number of reasons and those ingredients have helped bridge us into that realm. Leaning on mushrooms helps, too, but you can’t use just veggies as a stand in for meat because it will always be
