I guess I was thrown off by “I got slammed into by a dipshit being given space by a stopped car to make a left turn.”

But in this video, there are no turn lanes and, in fact, the HOV lane is segregated by a double yellow. This isn’t the same as cruising by a line of slower cars on a street or even on a highway with an open HOV lane entrance.

You saw the double yellow line the Camry crossed, right? If not, you need an eye exam. If you did see that, you need a head exam.

I suppose this is the best concession one could expect from you. I’ll take it.

I’m correcting you not just because I enjoy correcting people who are wrong, but also because I enjoy putting in their place those who incorrectly label others:

Every time I read about an update to the Dieselgate scandal, I’m washed over with a warm glow of satisfaction, knowing I was able to terminate a lease I no longer needed/wanted and I got paid thousands of dollars for the privilege.

Is this really MQB? This seems really small for MQB.

Great CsOTD.

Reminds me of when manufacturers brag about all the changes they made to a model, but I can’t tell the damnedest difference.

“Oh, yeah. Look at that- he even drew the steering wheel on one side of the car, instead of in the middle.”

A 2014 model? You cave man! I’m notifying CPS right away!

This conversation will probably carry on until everyone is in an autonomous car- maybe even then. I’m sure in 20 years, we’ll be telling people how irresponsible it is to put their teen in a 2015 [Corolla] when there are safer 2037 models available. Hopefully, though, car safety improves enough over that time that the

Exactly! They were shady about it, then didn’t try to clean up the mess they created by offering to save me any of the money. So instead, they didn’t get any of the rebate (and neither did I), but instead got a very honest and thorough survey response into Mazda.

Something similar just happened to me a month ago, after buying my ND Miata. Three days after I purchased, a new customer rebate started (so, unfortunately, I missed out on the rebate). The dealership thought they’d try to capture this customer incentive for themselves, so they called me to say they made an error on

I think the non car people heeded our advice better than the car people who had grandiose aspirations for some magic-bullet clown car that can fit an entire herd inside a sporty two door. Non car people accept the reality that they cannot buy a brown, manual, diesel, wagon Miata, because these people do not want such

Is that Q5 a stock photo or user-submitted? It’s bad enough the buyer wanted something fun/sporty and ended up in the quintessential mom-mobile, but if she thinks she got a 2013 when the pic is of a pre-face lift 2012... Yikes.

Yeah, which is why I find their omission from the list of charges curious.

I suppose you could carry alcohol in your emergency roadside kit. Or, you could leave your contact info with whoever else was involved (McDonald’s staff, in this case), then leave and find a drink somewhere along the way home.

Oh, cool. So it isn’t a soft, FWD, automatic-only, middle-of-the-road in every imaginable way family sedan now?

She was probably fleeing to avoid a DUI/possession charge on top of all the other charges. Given the choice of being charged with reckless driving, reckless conduct, and damage to property of over $10,000, or all that and a DUI, I can kind of understand why she’d flee. You’d think there would be a “fleeing the scene”
