Tracy Chapman was the songwriter in that case, not the performer.  Beyonce is the first Black female performer to top the country chart.

Boy, that shade of blonde is doing her absolutely no favors.

I’m neither a country music fan or a Beyonce fan.

And here come the racist trolls screaming about AVClub becoming The Root.

Some clown was whining earlier this week about it and posted a list of like 20 “criticisms” he had with the show and most if not all could have been said about the first season.

I think it would be a fun exercise, if it were possible, to have the people making over-the-top criticisms of this season re-watch season 1 from the same lens. It feels to me that a lot of the critiques of S4 would apply to S1, but they were viewed from a different POV.

I feel like this was just recently announced to spite Pizzolatto, which, good.

Well said. Thanks for typing all that out so I didn’t have to.

Yeah, I don’t get this obsession with every little item in a show tying together. Who cares what happened to the mine lady, other than the mine closed. Who cares what happened to the detective from Anchorage, he wasn’t helping. This wasn’t their story anyway.

Horsepucky. Leaving certain items open for interpretation creates a more personal experience for each viewer, imo. I don’t need every little thing spelled out, because in the long run, I’m not going to remember all those little details anyway. Look back at any of the great film noirs, can you remember how those plots

Most audience members were surprised by the ending, which set up a continuation of the story.”

Yeah, this trailer makes the movie look like the unholy lovechild of Guardians and Jumanji. There are worse things, but it’s not necessarily what I want from an Eli Roth movie.

That’s what I thought at first, but you can hear Navarro say, “go ahead” or something right before he starts talking. He’s also got a messed up eye from being punched.

Clive Owen seems to have somehow fallen through the cracks at one point 15 years ago, which is a real shame as he’s a really compelling actor to watch.

Wasn’t going to watch it, but a show that makes a certain demographic froth like these comment writers? It’s now a must see!

I liked this show. It wasn’t another goddamm Law and Order. It was an atmospheric thriller and character study. It was nice to see the women get the win. All the ends don’t have to fit.

This is... certainly a take.

I guess I’m in the minority, but I thought it was great. Good acting, fun writing. Danvers had awesome one-liners. I’m semi-frustrated at the things not fully explained (tongue!), but I’m ok with not all loose ends tied up.

Also, even though Season 1 is one of the best shows ever, fuck Nic Pizzolatto. He did this well

Am I the only person who doesn’t give a fuck about the sexual nature of this and is just sad about the waste this will cause?
