Yeah, I don’t think shaking what your mother gave you started in the west.

The belly dancing tradition is centuries old.

“It was an enormous, enormous triumph,” Steinem told ABC “We feel very celebratory and positive that we have created a voyage across the DMZ in peace and reconciliation that was said to be impossible.”

I was speaking about Steinem specifically. That’s why I quoted her. I know it was a multi-ethnic group of women. I was criticizing what Steinem was blithering on about.

A triumph of what- paperwork?

I’m not even sure that they crossed a border in any real way and they didn’t get near any actual North Korean women (just soldiers) unless I’m missing something. Tourists can visit Panmunjum and buy a souvenir ticket in Dorasan Station.

““I met women who’ve never met an American before in their lives and they had such terrible ideas about us and we became close friends. We were all crying when we left this morning saying goodbye.” — these women clearly have no experience of how a totalitarian system of the NK kind works. Every SINGLE North Korean

“Unhealthy” is just code for “ugly.”

Fashion models may not intend to be role models, but it’s often a consequence of simply being in the spotlight. And Tess has certainly made it clear that she intends to be a role model.

Because the things that cause those ailments in a person with a healthy weight are likely more serious, and/or less likely to be diagnosed as early.

Believing that a person has value, and can be beautiful at any weight does not require us to pretend that being obese is healthy. It’s not.

It is not my intention to shame anyone. I just don’t think it is something to be admired. It’s like trying to make kidney disease glamorous. It’s worse actually, because in many cases you can’t reverse kidney disease.

Obesity is a risk factor for all the conditions you listed. People in the end stages of those chronic diseases lose weight, so it’s no surprise that obese patients hold on for longer. Of course, not being obese may have helped them avoid those chronic diseases in the first place.

I feel very, very conflicted about this. On one hand, I admire her. I’m larger than she is and it’s nice to see someone who’s roughly my shape modeling.

This is the opposite extreme from the rail thin supermodels. Neither promotes a healthy body image, neither should be role models.

The Snake plant is the easiest to take care of, but if you have cats that eat house plants... well you will have dead kitties.

I have two snake plants in my bedroom (Fred and George).

Could someone please do a venn diagram of these plants and the ones that are hardest to kill from neglect and absence?

So you just came on here to say you don’t plan on seeing it?
