Not everyone in restaurants depends on tips, only front of house. Back of house employees are usually just hourly. I’m a prep cook and I’d prefer four ten-hour shifts a week. Although of course I’m currently working 9 or 10 hours a day five days a week so it would more realistically be four twelve hour shifts a week.
