@Tony Kaye: Guess what, you're a hypocrite. People post way worse stuff than what I have tonight, but my real crime was that it was directed at Jason and Tony. Narcissism killed my star, not fairness.

@Tony Kaye: wow seriously? For expressing the same opinion dozens of other readers have. My opinion is that what Jason did was wrong. Unstar me for letting people know.

@aek8: I'm not saying in all cases of doubling performance. I'm saying in the case of a "probabalistic" computer that guesses outcomes instead of computing them. There's no free lunch. If its going to "guess" 2+2=4, its going to be wrong sometimes. I don't really understand in depth how the guessing works, but it

Quick, Jason, post a picture of yourself, or your apartment, or your iPhone 4.

@meatbag_pussrocket: It's irresponsible. You're wrong if you say it isn't. Sorry, no excuses.

So you're saying gizmodo = complete narcissism and lack of regard for IP and the law? Huh?

Adam, ok, we get it , you like pot. So do I. But about when I was 17 I realized that bragging to people about it in direct or indirect ways was immature.

"our" old hero? Nobody knew who we was until modern tech advances included things named after him. Poser 101.

There is no mention of the downside. There is no such thing as a free lunch and this concept is no different. For example, a 100% boost in performance would create a 50% error rate. Meh.

@redman042: You could replace "naysayers" with "smart consumers" and the post would still make sense. To each his own.

Usually the type of people who like something just because its the cool thing to do/have are more likely to...

Man been travelling for a month...would have taken a better camera to St. Thomas had I known about this...Snapped some great sunsets with a point and shoot canon sd1000...sigh

@alek2407: The judge's ruling only has jurisdiction in California. The opposition will likely appeal, after which it will go to a circuit court, and then if appealed again go to the Supreme Court.

@twothefutureandbeyond: If you believe the masses are dumb (as I do) then dumbing down for the masses pisses off techies like you or me but it is still good for sales.

Apple's biggest selling points that have rocketted it to success since Jobs came back are stability, sleek looking products, and even sleeker interfaces. The product's case is not related to the OS, and stability is nothing revolutionary, so I'm guessing this is going to be yet another leap in the interface realm.

@AlphaJarmel: I'm sure a blowdryer and an exacto knife will take care of the logo.
