something’s going to have to happen to that interior at some point. I don’t really listen to Musk because there are a million ways to asterisk everything he says

Yup, pretty simple. With people realizing that the 3 is 90% the car of the S, and the Y coming to cannibalize X sales, they need to push the S and X further upmarket.

I think it has less to do with Switzerland, and more to do with post-9/11 financial regs. Which cover pretty much everything but real estate, thanks to lobbyists.

Didn’t know that about the avalanche. That’d be dope

Good to know. I think the unspoken trick that made the 1st gen tacoma such a compelling package was that the Xtracab wasn’t really for people. It fit one sideways person, or more importantly, two backpacks.

Yeah, that’s something I’ve puzzled over too. The answer I came up with is being able to haul a barbecue, or other similarly tall / dirty objects. Or mountain bikes.

I’m not sure the market can show anything when there are no small trucks on the market for people to reject.

“I think Elon Musk is a brilliant man, no doubt there,” she said. But “there’s an aloofness – there’s something there that I don’t trust.”

A little disappointed Warren didn’t have more soundbite moments this debate. Tulsi Gabbard came off the strongest imo, especially with that smackdown of whatshisname mealymouthing on Afghanistan.

It’s a car with a picture of itself between its LCD speedo and tach. I wouldn’t hold out much hope for the cloth seats... or the creedence.

Cool, it’s everything I dislike about modern land rovers in one car.

Yep. When the 355 replaced the 348 I thought “this is so much better”. 360... had to happen, but lost a lot of the drama. 430- back to form. Every redesign since then has been meh in my eyes.

Yeah, I guess I was commenting more on the model than this particular example

The appeal is partly that you simply can’t buy trucks with this feature set in the US. Ignore the exotic factor- What can you buy that has three locking diffs, is relatively simple, and isn’t gigantic?

I was under the impression that the new ones have a lot more stuff that likes to fail in a Mercedes-ish way (expensive, complex, and no aftermarket).

Those cute little headlights look so awkward on such a beautifully sculpted car.

Tipo 33 Stradale

I don’t redline in city environments either. But that’s cool you’re friends with the people who designed your motorbikes.

I’m not a fan of excessively loud things either, just pointing out that bikes are often exactly that loud from the factory.

Uh, a stock zx-6r is 88db @5000rpm. That’s 1/3 of the way up the tach.
