Seriously. I never liked metallic reds, because they don’t look bright, but I have to give it up for that one. I wish I knew what makes it work so well. A high % of flake? A more saturated red flake?

It’s funny, I remember a Jaguar technologist giving a talk about how their goal was to move as many functions out of buttons and into a touchscreen as possible. Left hand not talking to the right.
Oh. My bad. I thought this was one of those design student speculative renders. IMO way too crease-ey and complex for Tesla’s (current) brand language.
Yep. Normal car manufacturers have to do that shit, because none of them can make anything meaningfully different than another.
why aren’t fanboy renders ever remotely realistic?
I’m just excited somebody is floating the idea of doing away with fake transmission tunnels. Such an unnecessary waste of space.
I get that it’s a Corvette thing, it just feels antiquated to me. IMO, the future success of the Corvette hinges on looking like a supercar, at a fraction of the price. Corvette visual DNA is more liability than asset for me.
It must be painful to design a beautiful modern sportscar, and know you have to graft on that fugly testarossa rear end, because “heritage”. It’s the worst part of the c7, and it’ll be the worst part of this one too.
I was pretty excited about them, but then I read that the suspension is garbage compared to alta / any gas dirt bike. I’d wait for Honda’s electric CFR450
“if it wasn’t made before 1972 it’s garbage” are the same who don’t want anything newer than 2002 because they’re “too complicated/filled with tech/etc.”
yep, merc manuals are notoriously uninspiring
I had to google Mexican martini. Sounds like a margarita but shittier.
Whooole bunch of people in this thread who don’t get how rare the tourings are in the US
But isn’t $15k the range for a well-sorted s52 swapped coupe? Given the rarity of the wagons, AND S54, I would figure at least mid-20's
I would imagine that the custom order rate for the volvo 90 series is much higher than average, but I’m just making assumptions about people who buy stealth fullsize luxury cars.
Aside from the weird faux intakes in the bumper, I don’t mind the looks of the gen 5 as much as the size. Though the styling does emphasize the bigness of it.
Yeah, I think Tesla is going to stay on a slower refresh cycle than your average car manufacturer. They need to up the interior on the S to get closer to its ICE competitors (and keep it from getting cannibalized by the 3), but aside from that... updates and facelifts.
That wasn’t the goal in my city, and I’d be kinda surprised if it was here. The difference between an effective public(ish) service and a shitty one is implementation. You can’t get that right without data.
I assumed the door lights on other cars shine downwards as puddle lights. Have those morphed into ‘door open’ indicators?
I didn’t word that right- I meant I’ve only ever seen that look on rail-thin hipster dudes. Not trying to be mean
