One thing that I feel like this show has shown over and over for the most part is that anyone who “plays by the unspoken rules” is run over by the rest of the world. I think the ending of the sopranos is great, but lets not forget some of the later seasons side stories were meh. 

Breaking Bad was really about one guy in the end pushing his weight around affecting others. The wire many of those characters didn’t intersect to greatly but only in passing.
