By and large this cardinals team is similar to the 2018 version but with a better manager and a team defense (3rd in DRS this year) that is miles better. Improving on those two things alone got them to this point.

Good thing they signed Paul Goldschmidt at 31 years old and has shown signs of declining to a 5 year deal $130million deal. Oh and then he goes out and has his worst year since 2012 and goes 1/16 in the LCS. The Cardinals will probably win 85 games next year and still be annoying though. 

I mean there is usually a team that overachieves and gets to the LCS every year, it just happened to be the Cardinals this year with their bottom 1/3 of the league offense.

I think going 20-8 in the last month is pretty good. This team seems destined for a world series run.
