Anyone that is thinking about being a mechanic or any young mechanics reading this, get out while you can. It is a terrible job, it gets a little better at a independent. Still nobody wants to pay, and everybody thinks you are basically robbing them. Go to college and get a job where people respect you.

Former dealership employee, the answer is to leave the dealer. Let them hire all the newbs and watch the service departments suffer. Go to a independent! Best decision I have ever made.

I live in Minnesota, land of road salt. We don’t have inspections. Everything rusts out, brake lines, frames, and suspension parts. Never seen anyone crash because it. It’s not going to stop people from driving shit cars.
