I love how every time they show Vhagar taking flight, it’s like a kaiju monster rather than “just” a dragon. Makes me hope they actually do show the Cannibal at some point when they finally get to the feral dragons, since he’s supposed to be at least as big.

Rhaenyra has less screentime than most characters in this episode yet Emma D’Arcy put their all into such a character for the little screentime they got.

I am older now (obviously) than when I watched GoT - more emotional instead of more cynical, though.

Story-wise, it would end the war too soon if he died now. And his dragon isn’t dead.

So, Aegon isn't dead somehow? After falling hundreds of feet and landing on an exploding dragon corpse?

Her inevitable death is not in vain, though; her dragon explodes on impact with the ground, wiping out almost the entirety of Criston’s ill gotten army.

Parenting grades for the episode:

When he [Daemon] chases down a spectre of Aemond to do the same to him...

I’ve had my complaints about this show but that was a great episode from start to finish.

I’ll give Ser Criston his flowers, it was a good plan. Too bad his idiot boss had to jeopardize everything.

Yeah Chet Hanks is a complete fucking idiot in every aspect of his life. But that’s not the same as courting a racist audience for ticket sales (and also because you believe in racism).

I disagree. This story exists because most of what Hootie is talking about is nonsense. Wallen is winning in every way possible, except that some people remember that he burst to stardom for dropping N-bombs.

I remember when Morgan Wallen started his apology tour, people were asking, “Well, why doesn’t he have a black opening act? Or put up BLM kiosks at his shows?”

I thought, “Why would you do that to someone??” It’s already hard enough being a black person in Country music. How’d you like to be Morgan Wallen’s token black

I’m fine with never listening to Morgan.

Really?? “Not surprisingly??” Then why didn’t everybody start shouting, “Great! Now neo-Nazis are gonna start using that as a slogan!” when he originally coined the phrase. I mean, Chet’s a dolt, but come on.

A country artist knows that the MAGA crowd will lap up his work because he said the n-word. They probably won’t even listen to his music but they’ll still support him because he’s ‘sticking it to the woke crowd’.

And Strom Thurmond.  He was a fan of segregation, except when it came to his junk.

Dude’s talking as if public forgiveness is a switch that someone somewhere just needs to flick. The public will forgive people if they feel like they deserve to be forgiven. And that’s a piece of piss for a celebrity, just throw a bunch of cash at some PR douchebags and they’ll plant stories and organise benefits and
