When do they book expenses for rights like the World Cup?

Obligatory "I can't wait for him to be drafted in my fantasy league this year" comment.

Can't tell if this is sarcasm or a crazy...

Good call. The doctors need to have independence. In this draft, the team still has an ability to influence "their" doctor. That's not appropriate. The "tunnel doctor" should be selected by the league and/or players association to assure they're looking out for the players and neither team (who, misguidedly, would

I may be wrong, but I don't think any of the stadiums used in 1994 or 1999 are still actively used by NFL franchises. Even in 2003 when the U.S. hosted the Women's World Cup, I think there was maybe one stadium from 1999 that was used again.

I'm guessing the PanAm Games plans were well-underway when FIFA decided to give Canada the event?

Does anyone consider the economics of this before declaring their feelings hurt?

Bingo. FIFA can hold the World Cup to higher standards because there is competition among nations to host it. They do not - and cannot - hold the lesser "major" tournaments (this includes the U-20 World Cup and U-17 World Cup - not just women's events) to the same standard because there is not a plausible business

I don't say this about an American League pitcher very often, but I'd like to be hitting what Verlander is.

what's in it for FSU? I think they asked him to pay for the crab legs next time he goes to Publix and he was reluctant to make that commitment.

"Now I'm a Belieber!"

Not sure of the specifics, but FIFA now compensates clubs for use of their players at the World Cup. I believe they (or the national federations) carry insurance policies as well. Seems that FIBA/the IOC could adopt a similar approach so that they're able to make Indiana whole (to a greater degree), though obviously

By taking advantage of a guy's loyalty.

"Nagging injuries" - how Roger Goodell classified Ray Rice's wife's situation before she was dragged from the elevator.

I think it'd be entertaining to highlight great football plays that suck for fantasy or covering a spread. For example, running backs in pass protection. Clock-killing drives that don't result in more than three points. Players scoring TDs when they're are owned in fewer than 10% of leagues in major fantasy platforms.

Which trade is it that you've become a master? Baiting?

Listening to people tell their fantasy or gambling war stories is like listening to someone tell you how amazing and smart their four-year old is.

Similiarly, it took me a shocking long time to find out that NFL Special Teams Coach Joe DeCamillis was not Joe D. Camillis or Jody Camillis.

So to summarize, Atlanta wanted him, he wanted to go there, they were willing to deal with Boras... and the Yankees were a mess in that period, so bidding wars were winnable for other teams.
