I don’t hate Three Billboards because it was morally and politically terrible, I hate it because it was just a bad fucking movie. Drew, as always, sees me.

Whew, good thing I didn’t buy it last week for $20.

I’d say you’re both right: the War Table was bloat and much of the open world stuff was bloat.
Stable-ass table
It’s been years since I played Demon’s Souls, but my recollection is you’re not expected to finish the first world before moving on — you play through some of that, then switch to another world, then come back when you’re stronger. If you’ve been trying to clear out the first world before touching the others, it’s not…
Yeah, a comfy office chair seems like the easy answer here. Completely worth it. If you’re on a budget, the Hyken from Staples is only about $120 and great on your back, though the durability may not be the best.
I am never gonna see a merman. Ever.
oh baby don’t hurt me / don’t hurt me / no more
For a second there I thought The Mindy Project was a spinoff about Mindy St. Clair, which I would totally be there for.
... Wow.
I’m holding out hope that this is all just an elaborate setup for an “I’m taking my talents to South Beach” joke.
Discovered at Thanksgiving that my dad thinks the n-word wasn’t thrown at Adam Jones. Shook me to the core. It’s all the WEEI he listens to.

The Titanite Demon from Dark Souls 1 is my favorite example of this. The first time you face one, it’s in a large, wide open space. It’s a hard but winnable miniboss. You run into it a few more times before the game is over, with each adding a different challenge: can you beat two at once? can you beat it in a cramped…
Yeah, that’s how I remember it as well. I also remember it feeling like we were playing side-by-side games of solitaire, which usually isn’t what I look for in a game. But it was pretty and, like I said, really captured the obsession!
There’s a similar multiplayer card game called Moby Dick, or the card game. It’s not a great game, but it did an amazing job of generating that monomania that leads you to chase whales you know you should let go before they kill your entire crew. Sounds like the video game has that down too...
Funny that such a plot-irrelevant character is necessary to a barebones run. Like you wake up on the island with just Cid and Umaro.
I’ve always wanted to do a run where you only get the three mandatory characters (Celes, Setzer, and Edgar) in the World of Ruin. Is that a thing anybody speedruns?
Demon Souls on the Switch might finally get me to break down and buy a switch. Not that BOTW and SMO aren’t motivators already...
