I basically only watched this during its original run, but I agree with you a little on the Epitaph eps - I felt that, while I really appreciated the idea of extending the premise to its logical extreme, that was just it - it was something I appreciated more than enjoyed.

Probably any number of American Music Club songs will fit this bill, but the first one that comes to mind is "Sick of Food" off of Everclear. Not only do the lyrics take me back to a very specific time, but the fact the song doesn't so much resolve as hurtle into an abrupt halt always makes me lurch, wanting more.
