For the most part, no. But I think it’s important to take a break sometimes. I get this way with true crime media and horror alike. Too much just makes me worry about myself.

I can think of at least 2 or 3 trans or GNC serial killers, but that definitely isn’t a large percentage based on the number of cis men that make up the group. Hard to say for sure though.

It depends on your affinity for established character actors? But overall it does get better and it’s well-intentioned without being saccharin. And Moira Rose is one of the funniest characters in the last decade for sure.

The season 5 finale of Schitt’s Creek hit me hard. I love Cabaret and mirroring the structure was genius. Emily Hampshire is an absolute treasure and she had me in tears for the entire duration of that final musical number. Such a strong episode if you're a fan of the show, which I would say has had a standout episode

The victims’ families have appeared on multiple television specials and podcasts, so they deserve all the credit for continuing to ask the important questions 40 years later, even as Williams was assumed to be the perpetrator. And as annoying and self-righteous as Payne Lindsey is on Up and Vanished, Atlanta Monster

Fasier Crane did not vote for Trump, but Martin obviously did. At one time they bickered over a local election concerning a tough-on-crime candidate and funding for the arts. He’s definitely a centrist but would be totally immune to Trumpian rhetoric. He’s self-serving but not vile.

The Adam Beach episodes are insane. Those and the season and a half or so following are the best of SVU at its worst. Totally insane, serial killers, lots of rogue cops. Nuts. A+ for binging.

I was mid-marathon the other day a while into that episode and I remembered... There is a monkey in a basketball. It’s the reason I stuck around.

I’m in tears reading this. I’ve sought out true crime media for most of my life but since listening to the multiple part Casefile episode about this guy I have been triple checking my door locks at night, every night. It creeped me the fuck out. I hope they finally have the monster who was “the original nightstalker”

What an angel. ❤

I hadn’t heard about the Lizzie Borden movie until now so that’s exciting. Hopefully it doesn’t try too hard. To be what? I don’t know yet...

I agree. I find it really odd that people do this for a living, the same way I struggle with YouTube stars and I’m recently 28. I find it so bizarre as a business model/career? But shit at least respect the people doing it if you’re engaging in the content. I can get behind that 100%.

If this were a Would U? poll it’s a hard yes, all day.

Thank you for this wonderful piece! Sufjan’s music was my coming of age soundtrack throughout the 2000's and it’s so personal and so powerful. His work obviously affects listeners deeply.

Because health and weight aren’t directly proportional?

Yes and there are plenty of ways to interpret the sort of enslaved female characters that make Her really unsatisfying where Ex Machina succeeds. Sci-fi should always have those underlying scary themes to (hopefully) learn from.

Ex Machina at least deserves to take the place of “Her” on any sci-fi list. It’s better in every way.

I’ve witnessed plenty of today show cut-offs but come on. How have they not planned better by now? The show is a million years old and they can’t work in a few more seconds for a respected journalist to share a legitimate reaction to this tragedy? IMO it makes the show unwatchable, along with hiring crazy ass

Coming for Kitsch, staying for Shannon.

I haven’t listened to the new LCD Soundsystem yet, I think because of all the bitching about Murphy. I frankly don’t care about the old-sad-white-guy-making-dancy-tracks schtick if the album is still solid. I’m afraid to confront it for some reason even though Sound of Silver is one is my most played albums.
