When I got to college, Schaeffer light was the beer of choice at my school. And even then, I was like, what are you guys doing??? I lived on top ramen and even I held my nose up at that stuff.

I get it, I’m saying that precision down to everybody in one locker room would also work. There isn’t a carrying capacity issue in this scenario. The kids just need to know to go to the closest shelter to them at any given time, not worry about whether there will be enough room.

I get your point about space in a given room, but for one thing, it’s likely that the kids would be spread across the gym/fields in a real situation, so just going to the closest locker room would likely naturally split them up. If that didn’t happen and everyone happened to be bunched together, they’d all fit. The

Do you get the purpose of a drill? A drill is supposed to train people what to do in a real emergency and hopefully that training will allow them to go on autopilot and do what they were trained to do even if they are in a panic. They are not training kids to go to the nearest safe place, they are training them to go

They left all the kids confused. Why would a kid (in terror) run to the boys’ room if they’d always been drilled to run to the girls’ room? A drill should mimic real world and therefore all the kids should be trained to go into the safe place they are closest to during any drill.

You seem to be missing the purpose of a drill. You drill (train) people so that they know where to go and what to do in an emergency. They are training these kids to go, not necessarily to the closest safe place, but the one that matches their gender- and that’s massively stupid and self defeating. Even if they tell

OMG, that’s just awful. I’m so sorry you had to go through that and so glad you got out ok.

In his trunk? Like, “No, they’re in there, just lean in a little farther and you will see them...” Shivers

WOW.

Very true (and I love your name- so relateable)..

I’m not a Swift fan (would probably recognize two songs), but as you pointed out, she’s a young woman, a public one, and one with rabid fans and stalkers. She knew before and she knows now that any political statement will hand her thousands of death threats and probably some very angry and potentially violent

I should add that his recent fatherhood had not previously come up. I do remember that she asked how long they’d been broken up and he was like, “oh it’s been a while, 3 months”

Yep, that was pretty much my response. I was still processing that when he filled me in about the wife and drug dealer he was on the run from. This was all in about the first 10 minutes of the date. I was 21 and not really equipped to ease my way out immediately, especially as this was a double date with my friend and

That’s gotta be in the top! I have a friend who had a first date turn up to pick  her up for their date with a twelve pack in one hand and a car seat with a 6 week old infant in it in the other. Last minute he had to take custody of his 6 week old for the night, but he thought they could just netflix and chill instead

I had just broken up with my bf who my friends couldn’t stand. They browbeat me into going on a double date with friend, her bf and his newish roommate so that I wouldn’t be tempted to get back together with bf.

It’s pretty amazingly ironic that someone CONVICTED of sexual assault and who acknowledges that he did indeed rape a child has the cajones to say that #metoo is hysterical. You’re the fucking poster of how this shit happens and even a conviction (and escape) doesn’t really affect a man’s career or ability to reoffend

If the only way to prove anything is to have witnesses other than the victim, we’re in big trouble. If four different men came to a police station who had been held up and all picked the same guy out of the line-up, would you say, “He says he didn’t do it and you don’t have any witnesses, so we can’t do anything about

I don’t know how to square thinking he’s telling the truth with his known lies on a wide variety of issues. His explanation of his yearbook entries regarding sex and the humiliation of a girl are ridiculous. He has engaged in huge lies regarding his actions as a lawyer in the past and has been part of concealing

Bill Cosby was a civil rights leader? In what way other than as a successful actor? I am willing to be schooled (and I know that he funded scholarships), but I don’t ever remember his name or face in the civil rights movement. Paul Robeson, Sammy Davis Jr, Ossie Davis, Ruby Dee, Dick Gregory, Lena Horne, Harry

No matter what your party affiliation or voting record, please call your senators today and tell them that if they vote for Kavanaugh, you WILL vote and it will not be for them (in this election or the next they are up for). This is the only way to possibly sway them (mostly republicans) at this point. They are afraid
