I hate their drip coffee - it even smells terrible, which shouldn't be physically possible - but I don't mind their cappuccino. I mostly buy their coffee to thank them for providing the closest thing to public washrooms in the city (and free wifi).

No, the payment is the price of the coffee, which goes to pay the barista's wages. Unlike servers, baristas are paid at least minimum wage and tips aren't considered a part of their base pay. So the tip is really a bonus for exceptional service, such as bringing it to your table or something.
I was a barista for years and didn't expect a tip unless I was filling a massive order or making a crazy complicated drink. And even then, maybe "expect" isn't the right word — more like I hoped for one, because making coffee at a counter isn't traditionally a tippable service. And I don't know anyone who would ruin a…
Me too, just because she doesn't look the way I'd imagined. But both are decent actors, so I'll give them a shot - I wasn't sold on the Hunger Games casting and I was pleasantly surprised by how it turned out.
Uh, few pregnant celebs get anything resembling "a pass." Pretty much anyone who's still in the public eye gets harassed about showing any sign of a baby bump and every extra pound that follows. Then they get hounded about losing the baby weight.
Ah, OK. I'll withhold judgment. :)
I was mostly surprised you all chose to marry Melisandre... Unless she gets better later on?
First of all, your blog is awesome. And second, everyone wants to marry Jaime, just like everyone wants to kill Joffrey. The others are trickier.
In one of the first GoT posts here, someone told me I would eventually grow to like Jaime a lot and I didn't believe them. By some trickery he's now one of my favourite characters.
I freaking love that show. The characters are all pretty snarky but they're actually likeable, unlike in so many other shows.
I was just going to say this. Almost every network played that same clip.
Good to know! I'm willing to give them all a chance, though like any other movie-from-a-book, they have to live up to some pretty high expectations.
But if they each chose a different gender, doesn't it balance out? (I'm mostly joking.)
We can only hope! Though it might get a bit long to write out every time. :)
Yeah, there were parts of the writing — particularly the dialogue — that made me cringe but overall I got totally sucked in and couldn't put down the books.
Weird, I was picturing Saoirse Ronan too! She looks just unusual enough and definitely has the right body type for Tris. Shailene Woodley is too conventionally attractive, though who knows, maybe her acting will sell it.
From what I've read, she's very much involved. The official FB page said she was the one who cast Four, among other things.
There's definitely enough difference. I only mentioned them together because they broadly fit the same genre: dystopian YA fiction with strong female protagonist who goes through some intense physical and psychological stress.
Yeah, I liked Divergent more than Insurgent too, but I revisited some of the key parts recently and it made me appreciate the latter a bit more.
