I have a high threshold for pain — didn’t cry when I broke my collarbone or cracked a couple ribs — but getting the Mirena inserted was the most painful thing I’ve ever done. I was in intense pain for two days afterwards. That said, best decision I ever made and I would do it all over again in a heartbeat.

Aren’t there rules about rent increases? Where I am, a landlord can only raise the rent a certain amount (set by the city) each year provided it’s the same tenant. If they want to jack up the rent, they have to wait until you move out and someone new comes in.

Depending on the jurisdiction, you often don’t need consent from both parties even for recorded conversations. As long as one party consents, you’re fine.
