Are they subtracting the total EV sales revenue and subtracting that from *all the R&D spending on EVs*?”

First Gear: This is a question for the Accountants in the audience. It seems damn near impossible to actually spend $100,000 more than the sale price on these vehicles to actually build them. No one on earth would greenlight something that ridiculous.  What weird accounting wizardry is going on to come up with that

For a business, downtime to get a repair could easily be more valuable than the repair itself. Tesla is known for being quite slow with their repairs/parts, so a $200 repair could cost $1000 in down time. Tesla just handily beat almost everyone is lowest cost of ownership by Consumer Reports.

I wondered the same thing.

It’s pretty funny to see headlines like this:

Yeah and we shouldn’t subsidize oil, corn, eggs, etc. etc.

It IS “Classic”!

Elon Musk also weighed in, posting “I support Russell Brand. That man is not evil.””

Fuck, that’s the harshest roast yet.

Having owned EVs for a while, range anxiety goes away. It turns into “I don’t want to pay for public charging when I can charge at home for much cheaper” anxiety.

Yes, clearly the world should change in order to suit your needs.

No matter how many boos he hears out loud, nothing is going to be louder than the cheers he hears in his own head.

Hulk Hogan Peter Thiel doesn’t.

Good, it should have been rebranded day 1 when he started manipulating the app in his favor. This more menacing, dystopian-like logo suits the app much better now.

They’re going to be called xeets now. Or something equally stupid.

Sigh because there are no other pressing matters.

I’m still furious about Uprising. I’ll admit the first Pacific Rim didn’t exactly set the box office on fire. It made crappy money domestically, but did well enough in China that WB was open to a sequel. So they have Oscar-winning director Guillermo del Toro who is eager to make more Pacific Rim movies, and the studio

Don’t forget “grabbing an oil tanker to use as a baseball bat to slam a kaiju”. Also, mad props to Idris Elba for making “Today, we are cancelling the apocalypse!” sound like an actually badass line and not the absolute high camp it actually is.

Pacific Rim had a lot of things going for it but its soundtrack really stands out. I loved the fact that Ramin Djawadi threw in the leitmotif for Godzilla (The 1954 one) so casually…

The bar is down in the Marianas Trench; Zuck manages to clear it simply by standing on the shore and only falling over once a week.
