I agree with you. I find these ongoing threads annoying and an attending grab. If I want to look at dog pictures I’ll go to the aww sub on Reddit. I click on an article and expect to see relevant comments, not things that derail conversation every single day. Thanks for this comment.

Idk, I guess I don’t find it that difficult to say “no thanks please don’t contact us again” that difficult, no matter how often it happens. I get approached for media, ad and event sales all the time (don’t own the business though) and even with the pushier ones I stay polite - but I do have to represent my employer…

I’m not sure about the ROI for businesses. I just know people make a living doing it and businesses pay them either with giveaways or $. Maybe it’s a flash in the pan trend, idk, I don’t have that much insight. I just feel bad for the way the woman was treated.
