Mmmmm, the ur-Polo :)

Didn’t Aston Martin make a V12 out of two Ford V6's?

It reminded me of the very first Land Rovers, which instead of an outside door handle, just have a flap of canvas allowing you to reach in and grab the interior door handle. (They were intended as farm vehicles, so car theft wasn’t expected to be a problem):

Even just the metal is worth something as scrap.

There was some ex-F1 drivers in this race too (although from the 80's and 90's).

one well-placed bullet

Anything over 300 is unneeded.

Pretty much all of those vehicles are completely legal* in the UK, and we’re not exactly slack about unsafe vehicles here.

Now I need to see if I have a cassette player to record and save some programs... Maybe you can download them as a Wave File these days? Send audio to tape and load in the 1000?

France (and probably a few other places) does still have a category of motor vehicle which is so small, you don’t need a full licence (“sans permis”). From what I’ve heard they’re mainly driven by people who’ve lost their license from drink driving. They’re basically modern ‘cycle cars’.

I was going to forward this to a friend of mine, but then I remembered he’s an F1 fan, and this amount of excitement in one race would probably blow his mind ;)

Fair play for the previous owner(s?) putting 25k miles on it. That’s how you enjoy a car.

How come New York needs to move cars to sweep the streets?

People are buying up $60K SUVs. People are loaded.

Ask folks in the UK their weight and they will give it to you in stones (e.g. “I weigh 10 and a half stone”).

My old Peugeot got broken into several times by someone just bending the top of the door away from the roof so that they could reach the inside door lock.

Take it form someone in the UK, roundabouts are great until you get so much traffic that one or more roads are constantly blocked from joining the roundabout, so then traffic lights are added.

I’d take the Jag, it looks well tasty with those big wheels on it.

“it seems all of Australia is the wasteland.”

They should run it on the 450V system as a form of theft control.
