‘Stanced’ wheels (or Donks etc come to that) are like high heels. Yes, they massively compromise mobility, but that’s not the point, the entire point is the look.

Put the Tesla on drag slicks and it might equal the Rimac on street tires. (In the video they were both on the same Michelin PilotSport 4 tires).
It takes only about 100 hp to go 100mph
The accent was pretty typical generic-London, but from what he says (“oh my days”) I am picturing someone with a West Indian mum.
Yes, Tesla make RHD models for the UK (and Ireland, Australia, New Zealand, Japan, etc.)
Bloody hell, it looks like the video is on fast-forward at some points.
In the UK the motorway speed lmiit is 70mph, so typical speeds are 70-80 mph unless there’s traffic etc. A 1 litre car is quite capable of reaching and sustaining that sort of speed, although it might take a few minutes to get from 70 up to 80.
The larger fuel tank adds about 7-8kg (~16lbs) which a pretty insignificant amount, it’s less than 1% of the weight of the car.
And shares it’s chassis with the VW Polo which automatically makes it a win in my book :)
There is another factor of altitude/lower air density that does have a negative effect on electric vehicles, and that’s cooling capacity. Less air means there’s less air to take heat away from radiators/cooling fins.
I have to admit, my first reaction was “seriously, who hasn’t seen this yet”, but then, if you’ve not seen it, you’re in for a treat :)
The Amiga was well served with coverdiscs for it’s entire life. The previous generation of home computers (C64, Speccy) had already popularised the idea so as soon as multiple magazines started popping up there was competition to have the best coverdiscs, and as far as I remember, two discs per magazine was the…
I’m going to say I don’t want any car I own to be an automatic, but that’s because I’ve barely ever used one, and every time I do, I find it really hard to suprress the instinct to change gear, which just results in me hitting the brake (instead of the non-existent clutch), and throwing everyone in the car forward.…
And it’s only looking at brand-new cars. I earn more than the average UK wage, and there’s no way I could afford to buy a new car without taking out a loan.
But knowing Elon’s, shall we say, optimism, perhaps 8 is a more likely number.
The thing is, to continue you metaphor, for Apollo NASA had to invent the wheel, and then hand carve each one. What they want from this contract is to be able to just buy a wheel, for less than it cost them to build it themselves.
Nobody brags about a V6.
That looks like an average sized parking spot for me, although where I park it’s a pretty steep hill as well.
Dear god....all that to do the heater core?
I think VW must have sent the ‘B’ stock to the US. Over here, the Golf is basically Europe’s Camry. It’ll pretty much do anything you need a vehicle to do, run forever, and be cheap to fix.
