Citation needed. Seriously. I need to know if this is true. I’m just about to “tamper” with “emissions shit” on a car I own. As I understand it, it’s illegal for a manufacturer to violate such regulations, but there’s no Federal statute precluding a private vehicle owner from doing so.

Is there a mode for tongue weight? Or maybe just a correct number of lights?

Volts aren’t power. Volts x Amps are power. So, unless the amperage is held constant, the power isn’t controlled by the voltage.

What VW tool do you have? That’s about what I paid for a VAG-COM, and that’s for only three VINs. (And I have a MKIV GTI and an S3, so I’ve burned two of the three.)

I couldn’t agree more strongly about preventative maintenance. A timing belt job isn’t cheap, but it’s cheap next to replacing bent valves.
