Right. It’s just a remarkable coincidence it was the second to last car ever made by the company. Good one, Bob.
We already tried permanent DST in the 70s, it fucking sucked so bad that the two year experiment was canceled after one year. Permanent DST means that the sun doesn’t rise until after 8am in the winter. But why let facts get in the way of a perfectly stupid opinion, eh?
You want to change things, so change your situation instead of expecting everyone in the country to try something that was already tried and failed miserably.
You’re the one whining about wanting to change things, and it’s my preference that’s the problem? That’s some pretty fucking stupid logic. Again, use facts, not your fucking feelings. Derpdeeder.
You’re really trying to compare an Italian supercar that brought a car company to the forefront of vehicle greatness to a British car that destroyed the company?
If it bothers you to change the clocks why the fuck don’t you move? Derp.
Without DST the sun would rise at 4:25am on June 21. How is the sun being up that early, when hardly anyone is awake, not a giant waste of sunlight?
Algeria finally banned leaded gasoline in 2021, leaving no country that still uses the stuff.
So because so few people use sunlight at 5:25am we should make sure even fewer people are using it at 4:25am? Seems like you’re so anti-DST that you’re reaching for some absurd arguments.
Because it’s already been tried and failed miserably is a perfectly good reason to not try it again.
I didn’t think the leopard would eat *MY* face!
There is no DST in the winter, it’s standard time, so dark mornings wouldn’t change.
You think people are going to be happier with the sun rising at 4:25am on June 21st, and shorter summer nights?
So you want to make winter morning darker for longer?
The app that reminds me not to use my phone while I’m driving.
I wouldn’t mind 4 day work weeks and/or 6 hours being full time.
I live in Utah, with 11,000 foot mountain peaks to the east that hide the sunrise for an extra 30 minutes compared to places without such mountains. On December 21 NYC sees the sunrise at 7:17am, but I don’t get it until 7:49am. Changing to permanent DST would mean the sun doesn’t rise here until almost 9am in the…
Dark mornings are going to continue to happen regardless of any change. If it’s permanent standard time that means the winter mornings stay the same. If it’s permanent Daylight time then the sun comes up even later.
Why? It was tried in 1974 and didn’t even last a year before people demanded to go back to switching the clocks.
