If they were to say “hey, new rule, women have to wear suit jackets just like men have to wear” I’d have no problem with that. As a women, I actually hate that men get very clear instructions for dress where women have to just figure it out.

Agreed, men should not have to wear suits. Among many other things, it’s a huge contributor to overuse of air conditioning and detrimental to our environment and natural resources.
Women’s clothing is inherently different than men’s clothing. They make workplace dresses with no sleeves for women. I’ve worn them with no problem in Corporate America for years.
