Your analogies are crap, sorry. This guy’s restaurant isn’t to McDonald’s what local gun laws are to fucking Syria.
She claimed after the original incident that they target restaurants like this because chains “don’t listen.” So basically she admitted that they deliberately target and harass small businesses because they can’t be bothered to put in enough effort.
Translation: Our PR stunt backfired, and made the business owner look good. To save face, we want to look reasonable by asking for a dialogue, which is what a reasonable group would have started with in the first place.
this entire story just pisses me off. why not get together with a larger organization to try and meet with mcdonalds? why go after one local business? this is all so stupid
Reichwingers are just pissed that they’ve never been able to get one to work right.
In a statement to the Times, co-president of Fox News Jack Abernethy said:
Advertisers are pretty agnostic— they go whithersoever the money goes. Don’t blame water for being wet.
For real. I was always in favor of a more accessible healthcare system in America, but it was mostly in the abstract until I had a stroke when I was 30. I had good insurance at the time (no longer so good though my job hasn’t changed), but it cost me a bunch of money and Cigna paid almost a quarter of a million…

He has been. Cameron Kasky very publicly put this fucker on blast a few days ago after he criticized the politics/policy of a kid who’d lost his sister in the shooting. The asshole tried to say he didn’t know who the kid was an apologized. Yeah, sure, Jan.
The Guardian platform was written by the staff of the school newspaper and not the March For Our Lives organizers, but regardless, I’m in agreement with you about that part (as well as the part about beefing up school security) being particularly not good. But Hogg and his fellow students are teenagers who just…
He was on an NPR call-in show last week and someone called him “Little Davey Hogg” and went on a rant about him wanting to confiscate their guns. Amazingly, he didn’t take the bait and calmly let the caller know he wanted to hear dissenting opinions.
I wonder if some of their ire stems from the fact that, especially when dressed up, Hogg looks like a Young Republican Robot by some measure, but is the opposite of that
