To *theoretically buy*. They’re ultimately going to buy a RAV4, CR-V or HR-V because their wife told them to.

Queue uninformed comment how car companies should continue to hemorrhage billions maintaining small car lineups for some future unknown crisis later when fuel prices go up.

Why for life? Are the customers going to hold a grudge?

is this really how people think? that losing a customer once means that that customer will never ever shop the brand again?

With global platforms, Ford will still have the small cars available when the inevitable happens. They won’t be selling them here, but they will have the ability to (federalize them and) bring them here should the demand pick up due to rising fuel prices.

Why is it a bad idea? It may be, but you just explained why it’s a good idea...

They aren’t switching to full sized SUVs. The CUVs don’t carry the mileage penalty that their big brothers do. That said, I think it’s terribly short-sighted too.

This strikes me as a choice that Ford may find regrettable when gas prices climb back up. But I’d assume that Ford has put much more thought into this decision than I have.

I received a reply which starts:

That is quite a breadcrumb trail to find out that Le Monde (!) and two other outlets are being sued. Well done on putting together the pieces.

So three media outlets working side by side with multiple independent sources were all able to gather and corroborate information on his workplace...and he’s suing the Journalists?

They are suing reporters instead of fixing their own culture. I was looking forward to this game too. Hard pass now

“Do we want to talk about homophobia?” Cage told the paper. “We work with Ellen Page, who is fighting for LGBT rights. Do we want to talk about racism? We are working with Jesse Williams, who is fighting for civil rights in the United States... Judge my work.”

Another ‘lie’ is that they didn’t kill anyone (title) while the text mentions no one has been killed ‘inside’ one. Which is a big difference.

It’s not the car that isn’t killing people. It’s the kind of people buying the car that aren’t killing people. Stick a 17 year old in there and tell them they don’t need to come home immediately after school. Sell one to a 22 year old that’s right out of college with Tinder and a paycheck that justifies their degree.

Actually, the headline is a lie. Or at least it doesn’t match with the study;

Big deal. I haven’t killed anyone in Britain in like 20 years.

I love how she ends comms with “Have a good day.” and “Thank you for the assistance.” in a calm and cool manner. Like hey I lost a chunk of plane and a passenger so my day is shit. I hope yours is pleasant.

After listening to the audio, and how chill she was during the whole landing, I was expecting her to put in a lunch order for her and the co-pilot.
