Nope, he does not.
Nope, he does not.
Nope haha *laughs maniacally*
You really completely missed my point. I would suggest you re-read my comment.
Yes he was. His Matt wasn't as showy as say D'Onofrio's character but he plays Matt with such nuance. The scene of them in prison in S2 is a gem.
Yes you can learn more than one but you can't teach more than one in one setting. Its like if I taught karate and taekwondo at the same time. Not just because one is Japanese and the other is Korean but martial isn't just about the technique, but also the philosophy.
Charlie Cox wasn't.
Colleen Wing sucks as well though. The actress was just not a convincing fighter and not a very good actress. I can't believe I'm saying this but give me Elektra any day over Colleen.
I thought Killgrave was the MVP of Jessica Jones honestly.
I agree. She's incredibly stiff.
It bugs me that Colleen Wing teaches wearing whatever she woke up in. Come on!
Karen needs to die asap!
Sorry but those two are entirely different disciplines with their own set of codes.
"So… do any of you practice?" Yes. I 'm a 2nd kyu aikidoka. The constant repetition alone makes you fitter. And aikido isn't even physically grueling (unless during randori). We're talking Kung Fu here which is an entirely different discipline. Not to mention that he is a warrior, a physical weapon who's trained his…
Its a little unfair to compare this show with Kamen Rider. Kamen Rider specifically chooses actors with a background in martial arts or dance. Btw, Kamen Rider Den-o's actor was Kenshin in Rurouni kenshin. I've seen a lot of sword fights in my day but hands down those 3 movies were the best plus they didn't use stunts…
Which kamen rider? there have been a gazillion kamen riders since the 70s.

Even with a stunt double, there are scenes in DD S1 where its clearly Cox doing the stunt and he makes it work because he's got the form down right. In the abandoned warehouse scene with the cop in S1 Ep 6, Cox executes an aikido joint lock technique (a shortened kotegaeshi) convincingly.
It kind of irks me how this show confuses Chinese and Japanese martial arts and even the different disciplines. Bushido is literally the foundation of every Japanese martial arts and a code, its not a martial arts per se. Colleen mentions that she practices Karate which is an Okinawan martial arts and yet in one scene…
Cox had a month to train as well. he had to gain 20lbs. You actually see him get bigger and bigger as S1 progresses.
Charlie Cox has the same thing. He's taught the fight moves on the day of shooting. They break it down into chunks that he can practice and memorize. For the hallway and stairwell fights they had a day to practice. But in S2 he was involved more and more in the fight scenes. Still pulls them off well. I think that Jones…
