also he posted a blog post saying filming was paused for like, 15-20 min between him selecting the clue and being able to wager/answer it, because of some technical problems, so that would've fucked with his head some too

the raves are for the first season of spartacus, but not until the 6th or 8th episode and onward. the beginning is definitely pretty dire though

at the beginning of the season, there was 3 weeks between the canadian airing and the us airing, but it gradually caught up over the season due to skipping weeks in canada for holidays. if they always aired just 5 days apart, i could see reviews on us airdates getting the canadian readers too

disagree. going in the bottom halves of the category is a smart strategy. there was one guy (not too long ago, but i can't remember exactly when) who had a major run who hit the daily double like, 95% of the time doing it. also, it means if you run out of time, the big value clues aren't left on the board
