What could she have really done, refused to hand it over? He wasn’t a cop of course. She could have refused I guess but her personality unfortunately is too agreeable. Thinking through it, she offered her student ID, she could have said she didn’t have any other form, etc. I feel bad for a lot of people they kill but

Yeah, sure, because teenagers holding fake i.d.s always sets off alarm bells. j/k

“She stabs Hanley right in the fucking neck...” Hilarious. And exactly how I thought about it. Oh my god, she stabbed him in the neck! Which shouldn’t have been surprising, really, and yet it was. It felt desperate and awful and more about anger than necessity.

So glad the AV Club commentariat is still strong for this show! I was dreading the response to these reviews since the Kinjapocalypse. You folks have always filled in the color to the palette of this show, pointing out details that I had missed. I hope the crew from the show will also still pop on by.

I knew Elizabeth’s reassurance to Paige that the dude taking her ID being no big deal was all a front but holy shit.

The Americans: Henry Report, Ep 0601:

Sidenote:

You seriously thought Elizabeth was lying in wait to ask Hanley for a cigarette? Really? Is this your first episode?

In what was a wonderful moment of serendipity, I was at the gym a few hours prior to the episode, looking for something to read — after finishing Tracey Thorn’s delightful memoir, but that’s neither here nor there — and one of the books staring back at me from my kindle was Dead Hand, about the final days of the

I wasn’t surprised at all that Elizabeth attacked Hanley. But that didn’t lessen the intensity at all.

That request for a lighter did not seem innocent no matter how many packs a day Elizabeth is smoking these days. Dude had Paige’s ID and was a creep to her on top of it he was a dead man walkin around not knowing it.

That’s how I watch too—while grading papers for my classes with the screen on across the room.

I’d put it above that episode because of how important and game-changing this episode was longterm. Music Meister was cute but self-contained. This episode was a musical but without sacrificing any of the continuing storylines and also advanced them all in unexpected ways.

Thank you for the review. “A Life In The Day” may be one of the best episodes of TV since Person of Interest went off the air.

Why not do it every week? It’s better then 90% shows you recap.

Eugene’s tactical brilliance is in realizing that dead zombies make a pretty good barrier.

-So much for ninja commando Carol being unable to keep a 12 year old from following her.

I felt like Elaine in Seinfeld watching The English Patient during this episode... “Just die already!!!”

“Be honest: how much do you really care about this show?” would have been a much better start to this and every subsequent review of The Walking Dead.

“John Oliver and his fellow members of the establishment, should be looking at ways we can support and socialise troubled and mentally ill youngsters from difficult backgrounds so that they don’t grow-up to be masx murderers.”
