…a renewed focus on inclusivity and more progressive characters.

That was the very definition of "gratuitous" and very much appreciated.

This confused me as well, but Variety reported the same thing about SyFy renewing Earp, so it sounds like SyFy pays for what gets made up north by Seven24 and IDW.

That would explain the very realisticdistended belly in the examination scene.

Thought to myself if that isn't real, then it's the best special effect the show's done yet.

Only Justin came through with the correct FJ response and he bet big….

For all his optimism and hope in humanity as portrayed in and undergirding Trek, Roddenberry had some very dark ideas about what humans would have to go through first before they could achieve such enlightenment, assuming of course he was responsible/signed off on that part of Trek lore.

Especially since we can assume that far enough in the Trek future ships will have not only the ability to traverse the entirety of this galaxy but explore new ones as well.

The Trek series I want to see are the Eugenics Wars.

Loved the book but the movie lost me.

Deborah continued her string of non-optimal wagers by betting $12,000, which unnecessarily set up the possibility of Doug winning if Justin and Deborah missed.

Not a huge fan of the word either as it seems to be used to describe almost anything overlayed on the screen and apparently derives from the name of a corporation that makes broadcast graphics, which itself referred to its digital graphics generator as a "Chiron".

Now I wish Ellie did have a daughter rather than a pervert (or more accurately clueless) son, or better, an older daughter that could team up with Ellie in giving that son hell for being such a wanker.

Thanks!

The "braces" refers to suspenders, so the idea is that one is being extra or unnecessarily careful by using two things to do the same thing when one will do.

For some reason, once again Deborah failed to wager enough to cover a possible double-up by the second-place player.

I’m sure many men have these kind of pinups up somewhere for “motivation,” but so far they’ve been displayed in Broadchurch in a really distasteful manner.

You're right about Chloe.

Does Ellie have a daughter?

I didn't catch the reference either; might have been in the original BBC broadcast but edited out of the BBC America one.

Never heard the phrase "belt and braces" before this episode, so thanks, Broadchurch.
