No. She’s not.

A killing assassin? I guess that’s to differentiate from someone like me, who’s a cuddle assassin.

Has Nancy Cartwright given a heart-felt apology for the untold damage she has caused by voicing a MALE character? A kid who’s nothing but a bunch of harmful stereotypes of pre-pubescent boys?

As an Indian who grew up with Apu, I am sure interested in how he and Azaria drew ALL THE IRE. Will Steven Spielberg issue a full apology to me for Indiana Jones and the Temple of Doom? Cuz I was sure freaking bullied over that movie and not at all about Apu. Will Fisher Stevens (and like a thousand other non-Indians)

Maybe he should just immolate himself like one of those monks in Vietnam.

Just going to point out that the thread where two evidently Indian guys are discussing their relationship with representation is waaay less popular than the threads where a bunch of white people argue with each other. Sigh.

Not every person of Indian descent had a problem with his portrayal and some were even on the opposite side of the view on his portrayal.

First gen Indian-American here. From my user name, you can guess my approx age and know that I grew up IN THE THICK of prime Simpson’s. I’m forever grateful to that show giving me & my family so much joy (and now I get to bond over it again w/ my kids).

As a kid, it was interesting to see Apu on the screen. We were

I mean...it ended with verbally obtained consent to a kiss...there really may just be no safe way to address this topic anymore without people complaining.  She wasn’t being “manipulated” jesus.

“The entire point of this sketch was that she just wanted to make out, and he had no idea what to do.”

Honestly, the kid never came across as weirdly predatory or expectant or anything. He didn’t even think the girl was going to be into him, and he was extremely chaste when the time came to make a move. Yeah, she did expect him to take the action she wanted, but I would never call it misogynistic or anything (I am a

The ones I know do realize it. They dont act anything like the people in the star trek skit-but my niece, (who’s 20)-TOTALLY acts like this and im sure her friends her age do, too.

It was refreshing to see a sketch run on character instead of jokes for a change. “Are your hands touching? I’m out of my depth here, dear boy. Godspeed!

Exactly. Millennials need to realize that they aren’t the youth generation anymore. I know, it’s tough (GenXer here who had a hard time getting that grunge wasn’t cool anymore), but it’s the cycle of life.

I thought it was actually a really sweet sketch. Carey’s character clearly liked Kate’s character, and just wanted an indication that he was also interested. She liked his jellyfish fact! And she owns a gecko, even if she may need to put different plants in its cage. Being shy isn’t the same thing as being passive.

“Mulligan’s pretty classmate is so passively manipulatable while McKinnon takes very obvious cellphone advice on how to win her over”

Hell, he’s even a former Jeopardy! champion, having crushed his opponents in a celebrity game back in 1995.

The answer is: this guy is obviously the best choice to host Jeopardy!

If he gets the job Ken Jennings is gonna go full alt-right. You can TASTE it.

it would be if he weren’t right
