He said “accidentally”

“The plot was (and still is) nonsense”

Can we all finally agree that The King’s Speech was good because the actors were good, and that Tom Hooper is a total fucking hack?

Never had the misfortune to see Cats in person, although me dad and sister played the damn soundtrack on every long car trip.

One of my favorite recurring jokes on The Nanny was everyone giving theater producer Mr. Sheffield grief for passing on Cats. Because if you were in his place, wouldn’t you have done the same thing?

If this franchise keeps giving us the JJ Abrams and the Ron Howards of the world, while tossing the Rian Johnsons and the Lord & Millers back into the world of real movies, they’ll eventually kill off this golden robot goose and I can live a happy Star-Wars-free existence.

Bit insensitive releasing a film about a cat suicide cult a year after my one year old kitten got ran over.

I’ve no desire to watch this but as a student of corporate failure, I really want a making of doc or oral history. Who oked the CG? Why? Did nobody look at the test reel? Did they just shoot all the actors first and go “we’ll fix it in post”? The likeliest explanations are either some bigwig’s son did the effects on

JJ Abrams has never not been a hack.  Also, how much lens flare is there?

Hell the Mandalorian supports this take that basically nobody in the Galaxy knew who Luke Skywalker was post-Jedi or what happened on Endor.

A few lines into describing the plot and I’m already exhausted with it. I don’t even want to finish reading the review, much less go see the movie. I’m done with all of it. I liked Rogue One a lot and the first few episodes on The Mandalorian, but I have nothing but fatigue left. You’re right. I’m not a kid anymore.

Thank you. I feel like I’m taking crazy pills whenever I hear people talk about how “subversive” The Last Jedi was.

the prequels, which had Ewan McGregor and then a bunch of people who weren’t Ewan McGregor

It was fun the first two films. It never really got done again in that manner either, and definitely not as well.

Yeah, the “best, worst, weirdest” article yesterday on Star Wars video games made some bold and unsupportable statements about the strength of the characters in the original trilogy. They’re certainly indelible, but that has a lot to do with the actors and the costumes (especially Harrison Ford and that Darth Vader

I feel like no matter what your feeling is on any of these movies, we all fall into the same trap, which is taking them as a personal attack. Kylo pieces his helmet back together after smashing it? It’s not That Progress Isn’t Linear, but that They Are Retconning The One I Liked!

Darth Vaper.

They later put it on their “worst of 2019" list, accompanied by a paragraph which basically confirmed they’re covering it for clickbait.

Omg, that is amazing. I didn’t even see these scenes directly and this made me chuckle just from imagination.
