I currently drive the R320 which has the 3L V6 diesel. Same engine as the older sprinters. For a couple hundred bucks you can upgrade it and get 500lbs of torque and the engine is so prolific that it’s MUCH easier to work on and find parts for.

From personal experience helping people, sometimes it’s better to start with a high ohm coil and small device to allow for a higher nicotine level when someone is honestly trying to change over. A Cheap AIO device with an 18mg or 24mg (Depending on how much someone smokes.) with the right flavor works wonders.
