Yeah. The ref said something afterwards that he should’ve put his hands out to brace himself or something, but then he’d just be at a risk of breaking his wrist. It just makes no sense and refs have to take that into account.

It doesn’t follow the spirit of the rule though. And if you are going to literally put in the rule book that the referees are going to be “guided by the following rules,” they should take those rules at their spirit and not literally in cases where it clearly doesn’t make sense.
