Also, top marks for citing The Jobbie Weecha. I did definitely not expect that when logging into Jalopnik this evening, but happy I did. The Big Yin is my favourite comedian, and this is one of my favourite stories. You can listen below.

I am not a Ford guy, but I can’t help but love the look of the Flex. I think if it had been a European rather than American model, it might have done better. But then, it probably wouldn’t have come with the engines it did on the other side of the Atlantic.

Price rises being “a good way to respond to overcrowding” is the most self-defeating argument I think I’ve ever heard. Congratulations. You’re a Tory.

Avanti which is, ironically, owned by TrenItalia.

Italy’s railways are very much not privatised.

This Volvo fanboy also thinks the Polestar 2 looks better, and is probably just as practical with comparable boot space and better headroom for rear seat passengers. It’s a bit odd alright, unless Volvo intends introducing lower spec and lower cost versions of the C40.

When I suggested the Almera on Twitter, I first of all didn’t think Jalopnik would consider answers submitted on that platform, so that was nice! Don’t think I made it on to AOTD since it was brought back from oblivion

It’s depressing how much newer a lot of these are than my car.

Red Bull ending the season with a throwback to when they were Stewart, while Alpha Tauri will do a Minardi-themed livery.

Ireland. I believe our reputation precedes us.

Hmm. I’ve got a V70 right in the window for this recall. Strange that it’s platform mates in the S60 and S80 are mentioned but not the V70.

Didn’t know that about the Civic. Or the Astra, and my dad had an Astra saloon (from 1999 - hateful thing).

If you think the screen bezel is bad on the Niva, this is a 2019 Volvo V40, which is on sale, used, at well over twice the price near me.

I enjoyed this sentence.

Refuelling was only allowed between 1994-2010, which accounts for the leap in size between the 2007 and 2019 cars, but doesn’t explain the significant difference between the ‘91 and ‘07.

It is, but if they’re going to go to the trouble of producing a right hand drive version… especially since the second generation Megane took a lot of the Aventime’s design cues (including the weird arse, which they made an ad campaign out of). It sold like it was about to be made illegal.

I didn’t even know these came in right hand drive. Obviously this is a UK car. Wonder why we never got it in Ireland?

Not my photo, alas, but I’ve seen the Lamborghini Huracan follow-car in action at Bologna airport.

They were built in the UK.
