We had heaps of them on Irish streets.
We had heaps of them on Irish streets.
One of these was the first car I ever drove.
It kind of always is!
So weird. I’d never heard of this accident before this morning so decided to read up about it. I didn’t cop that today was the anniversary, and now I’m reading about it on Jalopnik. All because I fell into a wiki hole and ended up reading about Whoopi Goldberg, who was a witness to this happening, causing a fear of…
Fairly sure the Union Jack taillight design has hampered sales of Mini’s last few models here in Ireland, what with it being a symbol of centuries of oppression and the stripping of natural resources from all our land to keep the empire in warships so they could continue their world takeover.
I like it, though it is a bit “on trend” with the competition. Everyone lightening their logos (in weight, not hue) because their marketeers see it as being more in tune with the post internal combustion era. I also liked the spaced kerning, though. I feel it gave some class and modernity to an otherwise quite dated…
I think he might have got away with it being a racing incident if it wasn’t for a mutual DNF favouring him. It may not have helped his cause that he showed no concern for the driver he parked his car on top of. That behaviour was, at the very least, questionable and worrying, and at most, cold and devoid of empathy.
Can’t say who is more at fault for the accident. I don’t like either driver, but Max’s attitude and arrogance really grates on me to the point where I find myself coming out on the side of Lewis. Looking at the replays, it does seem Verstappen was slightly further behind and had the opportunity to pull back. It also…
I appreciate the support! Would love to get a newer Volvo but it’s just out of my budget now, despite saving me so much money once I’d have it on the road
I like dark blue. Not sure I’ve seen many dark blue ones here. I don’t love the colour of mine.
Or a toaster in the bath
Apparently, it’s bad luck to move home on a Saturday, according to my not normally superstitious mother. Such bad luck, according to her, that when I was 10, we moved house on Friday 13th (February 1995).
I’ve never had reliability issues, aside from the brake problem mentioned above. It actually still runs and drives pretty well, but is now relegated to transporting my two hound pups for walks.
Poor Pandora has seen better days. The Meatbøll, her 2004 S60 predecessor which my wife took over, departed us only a couple of weeks ago in exchange for a new (to us, but still five year old) Passat. Both cars have very dear memories wrapped up in them.
I’m in Ireland, not the US
I always forget COTA is his work. Because hills.
Am I the only one who misses when attrition was a factor in an F1 race?
Of all the parts of all the tracks he’s designed, the only corner that is in any way memorable to me is Turn 8 in Istanbul.
