“Sexual hazing” is a pretty alarming way to describe “asking inappropriate questions on sexual matters.” Most readers are not going to look up the original statement from Stanford, and many of them will come away with the impression that the band has been sexually abusing new members.

The contempt for correlations has gotten way out of hand. Of course people do sometimes wrongly infer causation from correlation. But a correlation is very often strong evidence for a causal relationship - ultimately, maybe the only kind of evidence there is.
