It just seems like an endless complaint about the “dysfunctional” (odd word choice, but ok) writing and narrative.  Which, I mean, if that’s how you feel that’s valid but the show struck me as quite clear from the get go that we wouldn’t be getting clear character explanations and plot points (I guess I feel like it’s

And I gotta say, these AV Club recaps have been a real drag, a never-ending attempt to define and critique the show in a way that is wholly inappropriate

I’m not gonna bother trying to understand why the writer of this review doesn’t like the show; I think it was a fucking masterpiece; every minute of it. most interesting show I saw this year. Hopefully there will be more. It very well captures the essence of being a teenager; the awkardness of it; the feeling of being

I’m looking to binging all eight episodes now, because I’m pretty sure I’m going to like the show even more than I did watching them individually. And I gotta say, these AV Club recaps have been a real drag, a never-ending attempt to define and critique the show in a way that is wholly inappropriate, conventional and b

I quite like this one. Well, tolerate it. The whole bit where they put the crew’s life in Quark’s hands to win the game and he lets them down is excellent. And then Quark thinks he’s killed everyone and the alien is, “Dude, it’s game. Why would we really kill anyone? Are you nuts?” Along with Q-Less’s “I’m not

My favorite Garak bit is when Bashir tells him the story of The Boy Who Cried Wolf and Garak’s big takeaway is that you should never tell the same lie twice. A perfect encapsulation of his thinking early in the series that he remains committed to throughout.

“Far Beyond the Stars” is the first Star Trek episode to have me full-on ugly sobbing. And after Trayvon Martin, Michael Brown, Sandra Bland (and that list goes on and on), I turned to that episode as catharsis. The scene between Benny/Sisko and the Prophet where the Prophet tells him “You are the dreamer...and the

This is a Top 5 Sci Fi show (and the only trek in that list). I like how you just went, all of season 4 and 5, trimming a bit of fat. Serial TV is so superior to the episode/writer/director of the week type in general, but this time period with DS9 and Bab5 running parallel just proved it and changed TV.

Obligatory:

“Second Skin (Episode 5)—Kira wakes up to a horrifying reality: is she really a deep-undercover Cardassian sleeper agent?”

So a Land Rover Discovery??? I thought Ford and Land Rover parted ways?

For the same base price you could get more than 7,000 Pop Tarts.

The real change is the friends she made along the way...

The real change is... ON THE INSIDE.

What I don’t get is how this woman claims getting the bike “changed her.” There is no visible way in which she has changed over the year. She was already thin and toned. I guess she just gets up earlier now?

Johnson labored under the incorrect and arrogant delusion that there was something about Star Wars that needed fixing.

I really loved The Last Jedi, so I’m glad to hear that Abrams won’t be returning entirely to TFA (which I also loved). I kind of love the idea of Rise as a hybrid of both the old and the new. Hopefully a blend of both will satisfy more people than not, because I’m just not sure I have another round of #discourse in me.

I think there’s been a perception that the Tesla Model S is a luxury car in the same sense that a BMW or Mercedes is. It’s never been anything more than the Camry/Accord of EVs, so the Taykan being a lot nicer isn’t surprising.

The elephant in the room has always been that someone could emulate Tesla if they had the political will. Tesla benefited from first-to-market status while most other automakers took another 10 years to even get semi-serious about EVs (save for maybe Toyota because they needed to maintain the brand image that Prius

Something I keep meaning to mention, but forget — I love the casting of Gutierrez, because he just LOOKS like a very catholic, very medieval image of a priest. He looks like he just stepped out of a Caravaggio, or even a Goya El Greco (thanks for the correction, cub!) — that flat, oval face, the sharp nose, the eyes
