Im positive this has been thought of and rejected. Cars last hundreds of thousands of miles mechanically now. Electronics, not so much. That 4 year old smartphone you're using is starting to feel buggy already and you know it. In 10 years we're going to have a lot of scrapped cars because the electronics took a shit.

I don't think so but idk. Ultimately it won't matter, he won't serve 3 years if any time at all, he'll pay a fine and I'm assuming he has to pay the taxes.

Built with a brand new body on a brand new chassis by an actual factual shop in 1974? Bullshit. This was built by two fairly talented dudes in a garage over a LOT of PBR.

“Auto 2000" looks like an 80's Pontiac LeMans hatchback and a Honda CR-V got drunk on cheap wine and spent a regrettable night together.

So many slow, artful shots of it taking off in 1st and cruising at 15 mph...

I’d give him 1.6-1.8. He deserves a little more credit for being subtle but clever.

I've said it before and I'll say it again, we already have "flying cars." They're called "small airplanes."

This is generally what David writes about, and we come here on purpose, so yeah, we do want to come here and read about it. Why did you come here?

The lights on the back of your car aren’t for you. They’re for me.

I'd think a German would be more attentive.

Well first off this was 2 months ago, so WTF. Secondly, why was the (undoubtedly) 20ish year old kid shooting phone video instead of you know, on the radio with the local airport or his OWN FREAKING STATION getting this guy on radar? Kudos to him for not shooting vertically I guess.

Sales taxes.... Fuck I love living in Oregon.

Honestly? Probably because GM products suck. Even the flagships. It was 6 years old, so he got the best years out of it and bailed before it fell apart.

But you DO get it Jason. It was all about cost. Trucks with no rear bumper were, almost invariably base models. Strippers if you will. And the trend peaked in the early 90's.

I don't think there IS an ostensible reason. It's just a money grab.

That was fucking epic.

After reading this, it has reaffirmed my belief that:

I’m *pretty sure* that David mentioned in a prior post that the Grand Wagoneer was bought by a military member. Every active duty military person knows EXACTLY when his enlistment is up lol.

I always thought with the rigid rear window making a giant scoop that the wind and buffeting would be horribly annoying in these, but I've never had the chance to test the theory.
