As I've said before, we already HAVE "flying cars." It's called "general aviation."

Unless you (and your family) are asleep, and your car is in your garage, charging and for *some reason* it catches fire.
Perhaps they could fly off at speed and hit someone? I'm reaching there but that's about the only safety related thing I can think of with a center cap.
Or just punch it out/remove it. It doesn't seem like he's in an area where it has to be tested.
Was surprised not to see this mentioned, glad I'm not the only Old who remembers. Seems fitting.
I think you’re confused. “Personal liability” means one is responsible for ones own actions. But if I am seriously injured or killed because YOU jacked YOUR brodozer up to beheading height illegally, that’s on YOU, not me.
Watching the Zippo 200 right now with a friend, and we are not really NASCAR fans but we are both loving this. Theres about 15 laps left and we’re glued to our seats. If NASCAR wants to grow it will add more road courses. This is great.
Because that's a car in a music video. Showing off ones lifestyle isn't the same as advertising a specific product.
Welcome to America, where you can illegally modify your vehicle and expose others to risks they didn’t agree to.
The 6th pic how the hell is it legal to be jacked up that high? That guy hits anyone in just about anything and he’ll be on top of them.
That was alarming.
The danger is from thermal runaways with undamaged batteries. Not so much of a concern now, but when all new cars are electric it will be. Truth be told what you said got me thinking, so I went down a rabbit hole checking it out. The tech already exists. It'll trickle down.
Wow. You talk a lot and use big words but you don’t read much do you? There’s already a gel based system being used on aircraft, and it’s only a matter of time before it’s adapted to automotive use.
Hell yes! It makes the racing more exciting. Just another challenge for the leader, and in some cases where a teammate might be in a good position it's tactical.
I can't help thinking about the "update" we received a few years ago when someone said he was walking but his family vehemently denied it.
(rolls eyes)
You’re good at missing points aren’t you? Never said a halon bottle would put out a battery fire. I said that most boats have them and they aren’t expensive. Thought you could track two subjects at once, my bad. Have an Advil and settle down.
Mkay
Oh and most boats with an enclosed engine compartment have suppression system. My 24' Sea Ray could rightfully be called “cheap” (not really, but as far as boats go, yes) and it had one on it when I bought it. I wasn’t going to trust it because of its age, but during the rebuild we replaced the halon system for about…
Lithium ion battery fires are usually put out with copper powder. Dry sand can be used as well. You are correct they self oxidize, that’s why water makes them worse. Its certainly possible, and I think we'll eventually see some kind of system. I see weight being the biggest issue, really.
