It’s when she won the beauty contest and was butting heads with the hot teacher Jeff was hooking up with. She says “Jeff doesn’t need a girl that doesn’t wear underwear because Oprah told her it would spice things up, he needs a girl that doesn’t wear underwear because she hasn’t done laundry in three weeks! He’s been

Oh lordt, you’re totally right. Whoops on me.

He was not informed that Weird Al was going to use his song, which is what irked him in the first interview he had about it. He was fine after they talked personally. It was an agent/bureaucracy problem, not a problem with covers or parody.

King Viserys Targaryen, depicted two years before his death:

It was a good game for the 10-20 hrs it takes to complete the campaign, but it has an end-game in search of replayability that relies on its player-base’s goodwill for its longevity instead of actual content.

Literally every Borderlands streamer’s reaction to every patch is “God, we hope this is the one”, and then they

...McG, you got something to say to this prick?

Yeah, that was a WEIRD episode of Animaniacs.

To paraphrase Tim Minchin, just because an idea is lasting or tolerated does not mean it is worthy. Unless you think that the status quo ever has been and always shall be the best of all possible worlds.

I’m guessing that their work as [checks notes] contractors for multi-billion dollar game corporations probably subsidizes significant portions of the labor costs you’re talking about. The studio already exists as a working company, so this is not the sole work they produce, nor did they claim anywhere that they needed

Perhaps. But perhaps a successful studio that has worked on giant triple-AAAs and even films before knows how publishing and funding works. At least better than the general public. Especially if their claims that the project is already halfway done are true. This would put them ahead of roughly 99% of early release

They had free time, a lack of preconceptions, the bravery of naivety to embrace the rules no matter what without critique, and no responsibilities or lives beyond school and the games they played.

Mmm, I’m gonna need to see data on that one. I’m over thirty, work in media (in the South, no less), have done work on a show about the making of Gone With The Wind, and I’ve still only ever seen clips. Because while I’m aware of the film, I’m also aware most people who’ve seen it think it’s boring, and I already know

Oh lordt.

That said, here’s a better written opinion that’s close to mine from Myles McNutt, who like a lot of people over at Episodic Medium, used to be AVClub writers. It’s pretty good.

Nope, it just comes out like that naturally. I thought about it, because, yeah, I dared to care, but didn’t edit it that much.

Folks can have their likes and dislikes. That’s fine. I’ve gotten milder critiques like this before, and they’re not unjustified. But making value judgments about how I’m actually *horrible*

And popping up in threads just to tell people you don’t like their writing style, apropos of nothing, is normal. Got it.

No, I was trying to good naturedly tell you your dismissive opinion with no supports other than a sneer and being gay is just that, an opinion. But contempt and easy snark aren’t gay traits, they’re yours.

Regardless, you’re not even confronting the argument, you’re just saying you think I’m trying to be too smart

Now playing

Also, speaking of things that are 30 years old, this clip from The Critic is what I think of when I think of Spartacus, hehe:

It’s a good book. But it itself is also 30 years old, lol. And if the only way to recognize a blockbuster Academy Award winner anymore is through a more modern academic discussion of queer film representation (of a scene cut from the original release no less), I think that’s made my point, hehe.

There’s also the less

OMG I write and produce art for a living. This is how I grew up, and this is how my employers grade me. Not to mention that this is pointing out why a paid tv critic isn’t crazy to mention a damn trope. Just cause you don’t have a problem with it doesn’t make it go away. It just means you don’t have a problem with it.
