You could say the same about female models. I have no experience with pro - female athletes.

I am a die hard Aldi shopper but I second your idea to hit ethnic grocers first. My local Hispanic market is so busy, the produce and meat are re-stocked every 20 minutes. They might as well just let me pick it off the truck. I hit Aldi for olives, spices, milk, eggs, canned pumpkin, greek yogurt and such, but my

I agree - as an atheist I hate someone saying “god bless you” - perhaps a simple “thank you for not blowing boogers on me.” At least “knock on wood” is a good pagan phrase.

Yep - you win on this one - sounds excellent! I remember the first time I used canned tuna oil for a Nicoise Salad. And then used the dressing for something else. Waste not, want not.

I know the whole original Hass avocado thing - however - they are the best. Maybe if they can shrink the pit, but in terms of taste - there is no contest.

From Boy’s Life I bought the “GIANT VAMPIRE BAT” - it was a rubber doll with a six inch wing span on an elastic string. I think I spent $10 in 1970.

Buy an immersion blender - you can make any dressing within a few minutes. Vinaigrette - add mayo, sour cream, avocado, or yogurt - creamy dressing. Caesar dressing is easy. Ken’s is ok, but full of chemicals. I can make Caesar dressing in less than 3 minutes.

A friend asked me - why bother making refried beans from scratch when they are so cheap to buy? I use prosciutto fat, real bacon, and cumin and yes - they are worth the effort.

lots of rules:

Something not mentioned in the article - Aldi employees clean, stock, unload and check out. Very physical work, but they are also paid $10-$14 per hour. They also allow those working the registers to sit down. They are extremely sensitive to lines and will open new lanes and clear out 20 customers in a few minutes.

Sorry, 573*12*6=$41,256. There is no way that is a good deal. I bought a “value-max” beater at carmax - with 100k miles - with admittedly bad interest rates - but I could easily afford it and it lasted me 8 years. There was never a thought - “this is a great deal!” but I also knew I could always make the monthly

I love Ceviche, but have no experience making it. In step 2 - do you just ask your fishmonger to prepare it “ceviche style”? Is this the same as just cleaning it? Do they charge extra for this?

Safety razor - 100%. 4 years ago I bought a long handled Merkur - I have no allegiance to any one brand of blades. It isn’t the fastest shave, but I have no reason to go back to the expensive blade arms race. I have a very thick beard and the triple and quadruple blades only clog. I think the big name razor companies

My first rule for buying a used car: love the car, not the deal.

Worchestershire sauce and soy sauce yes. But I must say get a good version of fish sauce - not Thai kitchen. There isn’t much difference in price, but the taste is amazing. BTW, if you are new at fish sauce - do not smell it - start with a small amount and taste the difference. Do not smell it.

Words of advice from an insider:

I bought a 1971 Mercedes 250 - not a very fancy 6 cylinder - with 198,000 miles on it. I kept it until it hit 265,000. Among the odd things that broke - the seatbelt strap wore out, the clock broke, and the tubes for the window washer fluid essentially rotted away. Unfortunately I moved from North Carolina to Chicago

I love the copy from their website: our blanket is “double-sided.” You mean you can use EITHER side? High tech indeed.

Of course, the fact that Angostura bitters is almost 90 proof makes it a better lemonade.

Now if they could only do this with zip ties - now THAT would be a life hack.
